Michigan Football: 5 must land targets as Wolverines refocus recruiting
By Kyler Kregel
4* CB Chris Peal (NC)
Defensive backs coach Steve Clinkscale has made Peal a major target recently, locking in two visits for the four-star corner; one he now has already taken for Michigan’s summer BBQ event, and another this fall for an official gameday visit when Michigan hosts UCONN at the Big House (Sept. 17).
With no current defensive backs committed, Peal would represent a big-time win in getting a top-tier cornerback locked into this class.
Georgia is considered the other big contender in this recruitment, though the Bulldogs appear to have Peal as a much lower priority than the Wolverines do at the moment, already taking commitments from three other cornerbacks this cycle.
And another reason adding Peal would be such a big deal? Peal currently attends Providence Day School in Charlotte, NC, home of some of Michigan’s top 2024 targets such as five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis, and four-star wide receivers Jordan Shipp and Channing Goodwin. All four visited Michigan football recently for the BBQ at the Big House.
