4* G Nick Fattig (TX)

A recent under-the-radar offer, Fattig is currently a Texas Tech commitment and a very underrated player, according to yours truly.

Fatting has an ideal build for a guard, and also has a background in wrestling and weight lifting, recently winning competitions at the 2022 USA Weightlifting National Championships in Las Vegas.

The Wolverines have one current commitment along the interior of their offensive line in four-star West Bloomfield native Amir Herring. However, offensive line coach Sherrone Moore has clearly been searching for another, preferably a guard with Herring likely ending up at center in Ann Arbor. Fatting was one of several new offers along the interior of the offensive line for Michigan, as three-star Nathan Efobi (GA) also received an offer.

After evaluating the highlight films for both, Fattig is the more intriguing prospect, though Michigan football should pursue both quite heavily, as they certainly need to add at least one of the two. Neither is set to visit this summer, but expect Michigan to try and arrange an official visit for each to campus this fall.

Ultimately, the Wolverines 2023 recruiting class will fall short of some of the loftier expectations and momentum that they appeared to have coming off a 12-2 season and a Big Ten championship.

While it is disappointing to an extent, Michigan remains well poised to add a handful of intriguing pieces to its program in this class, and landing each of these five names would go a long way to rebuilding the overall image of the class.
