The Michigan football recruiting BBQ is always huge for the Wolverines and the most important guy on Sunday was five-star QB Jadyn Davis.

We have talked about five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis over and over again, but there’s no doubt that he’s the most important recruiting target for the Wolverines in 2023 or 2024.

The No. 2 quarterback in the 2024 class according to the On3 consensus rankings took his second unofficial visit this summer to Michigan football (for the recruiting BBQ Sunday) and did so along with his fellow Providence Day teammates Chris Peal, Channing Goodwin, and Jordan Shipp.

Shipp and Goodwin are both wide receivers in the 2024 class and play with Davis. Goodwin’s father played for Michigan and is a former NFL offensive lineman. Johnathan Goodwin used to play for New Orleans and now he’s the O-line coach at Providence Day.

Michigan football is trending in the right direction

At any rate, those are all positive connections to Michigan and on the first visit Davis took, he really seemed to like Harbaugh, as well as Matt Weiss and what they could do for his development. It also doesn’t seem like NIL is a huge deal to Davis.

Not that it’s not important to him but he’s not looking for some guarantee. J.J. McCarthy is making good money on NIL and Cade McNamara has NIL deals too, so if Davis did come to Ann Arbor, the NIL opportunity would be through the roof.

Davis tweeted out this picture with Jim Harbaugh, his family, and some of his teammates, and while it’s hard to say a commitment is looming or anything, the Wolverines are now the leader according to the On3 prediction machine and have a 79-percent chance to win this recruitment.

But the prediction machine has been wrong before and things can change quickly. We’ll have to wait for the reports to see how the Wolverines did with Davis at the BBQ, but so far, so good.

Now, we just have to wait and hope there’s good news sooner rather than later because it’s definitely in the best interest of Michigan football to get a commitment locked down.
