Landing Jadyn Davis right now is a must for Michigan Football
By Kyler Kregel
Landing Davis now gives Michigan a face for their 2024 recruiting class who can actively play a role in drawing talent to Michigan.
Ever since the days of Shane Morris back in 2013, we have seen quarterback recruits take on a leadership role themselves within a recruiting class.
Davis would be exceptionally well positioned to do something similar, especially when you consider the immense amount of talent around him at the moment. At Providence Day School alone, Michigan is highly interested in a pair of Davis’ teammates in four-star wideout Jordan Shipp and three-star Michigan legacy wide receiver Channing Goodwin.
Top recruits tend to be intrigued with playing with other top recruits, so securing a star recruit like Davis this early in the process would certainly turn some heads and build some additional interest in checking out Michigan from prospects who may otherwise not be looking that way.
Ultimately, Jadyn Davis has indicated a preference towards taking some further visits and waiting until potentially next summer to make a commitment, but the Wolverines seem to have all the momentum, and short of upsetting him with a bit more aggressive push to commit, they absolutely should try and wrap this recruitment up this weekend if possible.
Or at the very least, get a commitment from Channing Goodwin, and keep a very pro-Michigan voice nice and close to Davis throughout his junior season. After striking out on Dante Moore in 2023, it is imperative that the Wolverines close with Davis, and the sooner the better.
