Kankakee (IL) four-star CB Jyaire Hill, No. 302 overall, No. 32 CB

This recruitment has been very weird, to say the least. It has looked for the longest time like Jyaire would be a part of Michigan’s class by now, but so far, he still hasn’t pulled the trigger.

Michigan football was on really good terms with him prior to Harbaugh’s flirtation with the NFL, but that experience seemed to rub his mom the wrong way, and the relationship between Hill and Michigan has soured a little bit.

Michigan is in a strong spot, as Hill just visited in June, but they still have some work to do to make up for lost time. This would be a big blow if Michigan were to lose this recruitment because this has been one of the guys Michigan has gone after the longest.

I will say that because Jyaire hasn’t committed yet, this has to give Michigan confidence that they can win his recruitment back, and the fact he’s willing to let Michigan build the relationship back up is good news as well. It’s obvious that Jyaire still likes Michigan, things just hit a rough patch.

Trinity Christian (GA) four-star ATH Aaron Gates, No. 318 overall, No. 19 ATH

Aaron Gates has been to campus a few times since the spring game, as he visited for the spring game, and also in June.

We’ve said on here before that he’s on the potential flip watchlist (Florida commit), but so far, he still hasn’t flipped yet.

It’s obvious that Florida sees him as a big part of their class and won’t go down without a fight. There’s really no rush here yet. if need be, Michigan can take his recruitment into the season, because I have a very strong feeling that Florida is not going to have that good of a season, especially because of their first-year head coach Billy Napier. Some decommits are likely coming.

Even though Michigan football can take this into the season if need be, the Wolverines need to push for a commitment like now, because spots will start filling up in Michigan’s class more and more as the season draws near and during the season as well. Apparently, Michigan is looking to take 25-28 guys for the 2023 cycle.
