After Dante Moore committed to Oregon, Michigan football needs to expand its QB board in 2023 and another option is back on the table.

The recruitment of Dante Moore has been discussed at length but there’s no debate that the Wolverines need to turn their attention to the future and the next move.

Michigan football’s top priority as far as quarterback recruiting should be to get five-star 2024 QB Jadyn Davis on campus for the recruiting BBQ (he’s expected) and push for a commitment, because the longer his recruitment goes, the harder it gets.

Davis and his father seem to be really impressed by Michigan and some of his high school teammates could also pledge to the Wolverines.

However, Michigan football could still use a quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class and the Wolverines don’t have any offers out except for Moore, who isn’t on the board.

There has been talk about in-state 4-star prospect Brody Drogosh who is committed to Cincinnati but the offer hasn’t been extended yet. Drogosh at least took an unofficial visit this spring and has been in contact with the staff.

But another option is available and that’s four-star QB Chris Parson, who decommitted from Florida State on Tuesday.

Should Michigan offer Chris Parson?

The 6-foot, 200-pound QB ranked No. 328 overall in the 247 sports composite rankings for the 2023 class and is the No.16-ranked QB overall and he could be an intriguing offer.

Parson is from Tennessee and actually plays at the same school as Junior Colson, so maybe that’s a connection the Wolverines could build on.

Outside of Florida State, there hasn’t been much happening in terms of the recruiting process. Parson visited SMU over the summer. Mississippi State has also entered the mix.

Parson is more of a pro-style quarterback than a dual-threat, although he shows good pocket awareness on his highlights as well as a really strong arm.

His accuracy is a question but he throws an accurate deep ball and has a strong arm. He sort of reminds me of Jayden Denegal from a year ago, but maybe with a stronger arm.

Parson isn’t a perfect prospect but since Michigan doesn’t have many other options outside of Drogosh, he’s a recruit they should consider, especially because the race for the four-star’s commitment seems pretty wide open.
