Michigan football landed multiple commitments this week and here’s a look at some candidates to be the next verbal pledge of the 2023 class.

It’s been a good week for Michigan football on the recruiting trail and there are signs that more positive news will be on the way in the month of July.

The first good news of the week came when four-star offensive lineman Amir Herring committed to Michigan football on Thursday. He’s ranked as the No. 4 player in the state of Michigan according to the 247 sports composite rankings and he’s an underrated addition.

Michigan football then landed a huge commitment on Friday, getting another four-star recruit in the 2023 class, Collins Acheampong.

That was a huge addition and not just because the 6-foot-7, 254-pound EDGE rusher has NFL potential written all over him, but it was huge because it showed that Michigan’s “transformational” approach can still work in the face of NIL.

There was talk of another possible commitment on Friday, but we are still waiting, and here’s a look at who could be next for the Wolverines.

Enow Etta or someone else?

Enow Etta is another top-tier target for Michigan football in the 2023 recruiting class and earlier this week, he tweeted “Friday” which seemed to be in reference to a commitment date.

However, Friday came and went. Is there reason to be concerned? Michigan State is making a strong push and the Spartans definitely handle NIL differently than Michigan.

But U-M offers the academic side of things that MSU doesn’t and since Etta was supposed to visit Stanford, Michigan should be the choice. All of the expert projections are still pointing to the Wolverines but until the commitment is announced, I wouldn’t rest easy.

Even if Etta doesn’t wind up committing this month, the Wolverines should have more commitments on the way. Koumba Aymeric is another candidate to commit this month and the EDGE rusher from France is another guy with big upside.

Mike Elston and the Wolverines offered the 6-foot-4, 230-pound athlete, who is part of an international program that develops players for college football. He visited Michigan’s campus and Ohio State hosted him too but didn’t offer.

So Aymeric is a likely commitment this month as is three-star offensive line Paul Mubenga, a kid from Georgia who is underrated, especially based on his offer list.

Mubenga is expected to visit for the recruiting BBQ and hopefully, that will weekend will lead to some recruiting fireworks for the Wolverines.
