S RJ Moten and CB Gemon Green

Both RJ Moten and Gemon Green have started games for Michigan football and even though the losses of Daxton Hill, Brad Hawkins, and Vincent Gray will be felt in the secondary, there is depth and talent.

Green has been a full-time starter before and his issues with finding the ball have been well-documented. Yet he was much improved last season and intercepted a pass as well as notching a pass defensed, while Moten had 35 stops, three pass breakups and an interception.

Moten and Green are both solid players but are being a little overlooked, in part because of really talented freshmen. Will Johnson is a five-star freshman that many are assuming will start this fall but Green isn’t going to give that up without a fight.

Over the years, Green has proven to be a solid corner, he just needed to get better at seeing the ball and making a play on it. Last year, he seemed to improve and that’s not a surprise with Steve Clinkscale as his position coach.

So I wouldn’t be shocked if Green opened the season as the starter and just like Vincent Gray last year, he’s going to be in the mix all year long. Moten will be too. Freshmen such Zeke Berry and Keon Sabb have gotten a lot of attention, but don’t sleep on Moten or Green.
