TJ Guy

A former three-star recruit according to the 247 sports composite rankings, TJ Guy is a classic example of Michigan football hitting on an evaluation and getting a talented player that was underrated by the recruiting services.

Guy only played in two games last season for Michigan football, which means that he’s still a redshirt freshman but he’s listed at 6-foot-5, 251 pounds and he was impressive this spring.

Morris and Tayor Upshaw are likely going to be the starters outside at the EDGE positions, but the Wolverines are going to need others to contribute. Former top-100 recruit Braiden McGregor, who has a lot of similar traits to Hutchinson, is one candidate, as is top-50 freshman Derrick Moore, who enrolled early and flashed dominance during the spring.

Yet, Guy is another EDGE that Michigan fans need to know. He’s got the size and the length and after the way he performed in the spring, he seems ready to contribute as a regular pass rusher.

And if Michigan can get production from Guy, as well as others, the Wolverines could be better than expected at applying pressure from the edge.
