Offer Brady Drogosh this summer

If Michigan football misses on Dante Moore, which appears likely, there will be a bit of scramble to find a 2023 quarterback.

It’s possible that the Wolverines stand pat with their QBs and just focus on 2024 as Alex Orji, Jayden Denegal, and Davis Warren, a former walk-on who has impressed, all have freshman eligibility. So the situation isn’t dire.

But Warren, Michigan native Brady Drogosh would make a lot of sense if the Wolverines want to switch gears in 2023 at QB.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound quarterback is ranked 493rd overall in the 2023 class according to the 247 sports composite rankings, as well as 11th in the state of Michigan. He’s also the No. 26 QB in the 2023 class.

However, he performed well at the Elite 11 recently and is a guy that could wind up ranked as a four-star when it’s all said and done. Cincinnati offered in late April and had his commitment in early May. So it’s not like he’s got a long-standing relationship with the Bearcats.

Michigan football has been in communication with him and he was on campus this spring but an offer didn’t come. That’s because Moore was the priority, yet it’s definitely time to hedge.

Drogosh grew up as a fan and as long the Wolverines offer him sometime this summer, they could develop that relationship and probably get him on campus for an official visit during a game. If U-M offers and gets a visit, a flip could be a real possibility.

A commitment from Drogosh would add depth to the QB room and another viable long-term option to potentially replace J.J. McCarthy.

Of course, the hope is to replace one five-star (J.J.) with another and even though it’s not likely in the 2023 class, the dream isn’t dead yet.
