4-star EDGE Collins Acheampong

Another impressive athlete that is projected to be an edge rusher if he committed to Michigan football is Collins Acheampong, who is listed at 6-foot-7, 254 pounds on his 247 sports profile.

Acheampong originally came to the United States from Ghana to play basketball and while he was solid in that sport, he’s better on the football field. He hasn’t played for a couple of years due to COVID-19 but is expected to play in the Trinity League in California this year which is loaded.

The No. 271 overall prospect visited Michigan the same weekend as Etta but he also visited Miami soon after and the Hurricanes impressed him. They are also doing NIL much differently.

Acheampong was supposed to make an announcement on July 1 but pushed it back. However, just one On3 expert has put in a projection for Miami. EJ Holland, Michigan’s insider for On3 is still predicting Michigan football.

Sam Webb and Steve Lorenz of The Michigan Insider each dropped the confidence levels on their crystal balls but they are still for Michigan.

Acheampong didn’t indicate when he could make a decision, but it could be this month and right now, there is still reason to think it will be Michigan.
