Harbaugh’s worst month

It doesn’t really matter why it happened, but the fact remains that the state of Michigan produced five-star quarterbacks in back-to-back classes the Wolverines won’t land either.

Michigan never recruited CJ Carr like it did Dante Moore and the Wolverines never made him as big a priority as it should have in 2024. Notre Dame, seeing the writing on the wall with Moore, made the smart move and prioritized Carr, who committed back in June.

As bad as it was to see the grandson of Lloyd Carr commit to Notre Dame, it would have been alright if Michigan had landed Dante Moore.

The five-star QB from Detroit hasn’t committed anywhere yet, but the recruitment is as good as finished. He’s going to pledge to Oregon as the Wolverines suffer another colossal failure.

Sure, Michigan could land Jadyn Davis, a five-star in 2024, which would erase the memories of missing on Moore and Carr, but with the way Michigan is handling NIL, do we really think a five-star QB or any top-100 recruit is coming to Ann Arbor?

Raylen Wilson just decommitted and since NIL has really been on the table, Michigan hasn’t landed a single blue chip in the 2023 class, so it’s hard to have confidence that the Wolverines can close with any top-flight recruits.

This brings us to our last thought on the approach of “transformational, not transactional.”
