4* TE Luke Hasz (OK)

As previously mentioned, Hasz is the highest-ranked of Michigan football’s June 10th visitors, coming as the #2 tight end in the nation on the 247Sports Composite Rankings. \

Currently committed to Arkansas, the Wolverines will be aiming to flip Hasz and have similar success as they did with a fellow highly-ranked recruit out of Oklahoma in 2022 first-round Draft pick Daxton Hill. Hasz will be coming off of an official visit to SEC powerhouse Alabama the weekend prior but has certainly shown interest in Michigan.

As a recruit, 247Sports’ Gabe Brooks wrote a scouting report up on Hasz, describing him as an ideal move tight end, capable of presenting problems for opposing secondaries as a pass-catcher.

Overview

Michigan football should be in solid opportunity to build some momentum on their 2023 recruiting class, which has stalled out a bit as of late, ranking 25th nationally behind some unusual programs like Northwestern, Texas Tech, Wake Forest, Louisville, and Colorado.

Some of this is simply due to sheer class size, such as Texas Tech holding 20 commitments at this point compared to Michigan’s six, though there certainly does not appear to be much momentum on Michigan’s end, with their last commitment coming more than two months ago in three-star running back Benjamin Hall.

The Wolverines are in good standing, however, with a handful of these prospects. And while many of them will likely want to take their remaining summer official visits before deciding, this weekend, along with next weekend’s recruiting events should give Jim Harbaugh and co. the opportunity to make a big impression on some much-needed recruits to get things going again.
