June will be huge

It’s easy to sit here and panic about Michigan football’s 2023 recruiting class right now, but it’s way too early and the trend is heading back in a positive direction.

Last year at this time, Michigan hadn’t landed guys like Colston Loveland, Mason Graham, Zeke Berry, Keon Sabb, Amorion Walker, Darrius Clemons, and Derrick Moore.

Things can change quickly and while Michigan struggled in the 2022 class to attract elite recruits, once the winning started, that changed. And this fall, people will be reminded again that Michigan football is really good right now.

And if May was about setting the table, June is about cleaning up.

The Wolverines have always been able to build momentum coming out of the BBQ and I’d expect that this year too. Michigan is trending up with a number of key targets in the 2023 class and Michigan football always does well with its visits.

But the Wolverines also have to close. They have talked about the buzz they are building on the trail but unless they get multiple commitments in June, it will be hard to keep selling that.
