Defensive Secondary

Similar to the offensive line, Michigan football currently does not have any commitments in the secondary. Some of the top prospects the Wolverines are after include four-star athlete Jeremiyah Love (MO), four-star cornerback Aaron Gates (GA), three-star cornerback Collin Gill (DC), and four-star safeties Makari Vickers (FL) and Marvin Burks Jr. (MO), while trying to flip Notre Dame four-star commit Peyton Bowen (TX). Bowen in particular will be interesting to watch, as he’s scheduled to visit Michigan on June 17th, along with a handful of other top targets.

Gates, who is currently committed to the Florida Gators, seems most likely however, even as a flip candidate. This is a spot where Michigan does not appear to have much clarity, not clearly out front for many top targets. Expect the board to continue to expand here as Michigan gets some defensive backs on campus this summer.

Prediction: Michigan lands CB Aaron Gates, CB Collin Gill, and S Peyton Bowen.

Special Teams

Michigan has already secured a commitment in the special teams department, landing a commitment from three-star kicker Adam Samaha. A local talent at Huron High School, Samaha ranks as the #1 overall kicking prospect on 247Sports’ Composite Ranking.
