Michigan football is hosting a talented trio of pass-catchers in June and here’s a look at where things stand at the wide receiver position in 2023.

The Wolverines got off to a strong start at the wide receiver position in the 2023 class with the commitment of three-star Semaj Morgan, who is also a top in-state recruit.

Morgan is ranked 468th overall according to the On3 consensus rankings and the ninth-ranked player in the state of Michigan. The 5-foot-9, 178-pounder is also underrated and at some point, I think he’ll make a move up the rankings.

Either way, he’s going to add another dynamic weapon to the Michigan football offense in the future and hopefully, he won’t be the only dynamic addition at wideout in the 2023 class.

Michigan football is currently working on a number of top targets and one of them is still five-star wideout Jalen Brown from South Florida. He’s tight with Desmond Howard and Ron Bellamy recently made a stop, so the Wolverines are trying to stay in the mix.

While we don’t know if Brown will visit Michigan football again this summer, the Wolverines have a trio of wide receiver visits already scheduled for June and they are some talented dudes.

My favorite might be Kenyon Sadiq. He’s 6-foot-3, 210 pounds out of Idaho. The Wolverines signed Colston Loveland out of Idaho in 2022 and Sadiq could be the next as Michigan is targeting the freak athlete as a wide receiver. He also has potential as an edge rusher or tight end.

Oregon is the favorite according to his On3.com profile but his official visit to Ann Arbor could be huge in swinging the pendulum in Michigan’s favor.

Sadiq is going to visit later in June, but June 10th is going to be another important visit weekend for the Wolverines and on that trip will be Fredrick Moore.

Moore is ranked 854th overall right now according to the On3 consensus rankings but I don’t care. I love his ability and even though he doesn’t have great speed, the kid can get the ball. He’s another from the St. Louis area and while he isn’t blazing fast (he ran an 11.55 in the 100 as a sophomore) he’s got plenty of big-play ability and averaged over 24 yards per catch as a junior.

Moore is one of those guys who plays really fast on a football field and he’s someone I would love to see in Michigan’s 2023 class.

Johntay Cook is also taking an official visit to Michigan football and that will be on June 20. It’s right after the big visit weekend so it’s not ideal but the 47th-overall prospect is worth the wait.

This will give the staff a chance to really sell itself to Cook who is 6-foot, 171 pounds, and incredibly dynamic out of DeSoto, Texas.

Ron Bellamy has been all over Cook and at one point, Cook said Bellamy was in contact with him as much as his girlfriend.

That’s the kind of effort it will take to lure Cook away from Texas and Texas A&M but the Wolverines did land the Green twins from DeSoto, so you never know.
