O-line might be even better

Michigan football’s offensive line was named the best in college football last season, winning the Joe Moore Award but I think there’s a good chance the 2022 O-line is even better.

I broke down why in this post here. The group is going to have to replace some key pieces such as Andrew Vastardis and Andrew Stueber. They were the heart and soul of the group and their leadership might have mattered as much as anything.

But their replacements, well, it’s hard to say they aren’t more talented. Trente Jones is going to be an NFL player someday and he’s set to take over at right tackle, assuming he can hold off Karsen Barnhart who is also capable of starting and playing in the league someday.

The Wolverines added an All-American caliber center and a guy in Victor Oluwatimi that is being talked about as a day-two draft pick. Ryan Hayes is being projected by some to go in the first round and to be honest, Zak Zinter is the best of the bunch.

Zinter is going to be a first-round pick in my book too someday, or at least someone that goes fairly early and Trevor Keegan looks like an NFL dude too. Plus there is the quality depth with Greg Crippen, Raheem Anderson, and Giovanni El-Hadi all ready to take a step.

So as good as I feel about the quarterbacks, and the skill guys, I feel even better about the offensive line. This Michigan team will miss the physical presence of Hassan Haskins running the football but it’s still going to run the damn ball in 2022, very effectively.

And it’s my firm belief that this will be the best-scoring offense Jim Harbaugh has ever had at Michigan.
