It’s been confirmed by multiple outlets that Dante Moore will visit Michigan football this week and here’s the latest on his recruitment.
Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider was the first to report last week that five-star quarterback Dante Moore was going to visit Michigan football this week, but that has now been confirmed by Allen Trieu of 247 sports and also Chad Simmons of On3.com.
As we said last week, this visit is a big opportunity for Michigan football to swing the momentum back in its favor for Moore, who will be visiting Ann Arbor for the third time this year.

It’s true that this isn’t an official visit but Moore lives just down the road and is familiar with the program after getting offered by Jim Harbaugh as an eighth-grader.

Moore told Trieu it “feels good” being on campus at Michigan but in another tidbit reported by Trieu (subscription required), Moore could visit Texas A&M.
How worried should Michigan football be about Texas A&M?
With the way that Texas A&M recruits and how its able to play the NIL game, it’s always worrisome when the Aggies get involved.
One thing working against A&M is the fact that the Aggies landed a five-star QB recruit in the 2022 class in Conner Weigman who is expected to be the future starter, which would mean Moore would need to beat him out or sit for a few years.
I don’t see that happening and I’m sure he would transfer but it seems like a less than ideal situation for someone who wants to start right away or at least by his sophomore season.
Jimbo Fisher is an excellent recruiter though and so is Marcus Freeman at Notre Dame. Yet, the X-factor for Michigan football in this recruitment remains Jim Harbaugh and this visit is his chance to turn things around.
When the Wolverines were behind with Will Johnson and Donovan Edwards, Harbaugh got more involved and that wound up turning the tide. It wasn’t all about Harbaugh but he was a factor in each of those victories and he’ll need to play a role with Moore too.
If Moore stays in the Midwest, there isn’t a sure thing quite like signing with Jim Harbaugh and Michigan, outside of Ohio State, but the Buckeyes aren’t involved.
Harbaugh needs to assert himself in this recruitment and if the Wolverines don’t gain momentum coming out of this visit, it might be too late for the 5-star QB from Detroit.
