Double-digit wins and the Rose Bowl

Getting back to the Big Ten championship or the College Football Playoff is going to be a huge challenge. Of course, Harbaugh said when he returned that his new goal was winning a national championship and it now seems sort of realistic.

There is still a lot of work to do. A lot to reach the level of Georgia and Alabama. But Ohio State is right there with those programs and if Michigan can beat the Buckeyes consistently, that will be a start.

As I said, I don’t see Michigan beating Ohio State this year. The Buckeyes are so loaded on offense and the defense can’t be as bad as last year. But I do see this Michigan team winning 10 games.

The schedule isn’t all that difficult, especially before conference play and while the road trip to Iowa is always a nightmare for Michigan, the other tough road game is Ohio State. Nebraska, Michigan State, and Penn State all come to the Big House.

So there’s a good chance this team is heading to Columbus sitting at 10-1 and with a chance to win the Big Ten East for the second straight year. A loss puts the Wolverines at 10-2 and just like the Buckeyes last season, Michigan will head to the Rose Bowl.
