3. Peyton Bowen — Notre Dame DB commit

Speaking of Amorion Walker, the Wolverines are aiming to flip another Notre Dame football commitment in the 2023 class and that’s four-star defensive back Peyton Bowen.

Bowen is ranked as the No. 52 overall prospect in the 2023 class according to On3 and is also the sixth-best safety in the class, as well as the ninth-best player in the state of Texas.

Michigan football got involved a few months ago and Bowen said some really positive things about the Wolverines, especially about coach Steve Clinkscale and U-M making the playoff.

While there hasn’t been much movement in his recruitment, according to EJ Holland’s Tweet on Tuesday, Michigan and Clink are still pushing for Bowen and trying to get him on campus this summer.

After taking three really good safeties in the 2022 class — Sabb, Zeke Berry, and Damani Dent — it’s not a huge position of need for Michigan in 2023, which allows the staff to shoot its shot with one of the elite prospects at the position.

The key is getting Bowen on campus for a visit. The same with Cozart. If that happens then these “potential” flips might become a reality.
