Oklahoma State Cowboys, neutral site

I thought about going with the Baylor Bears here, but Michigan hasn’t played the Cowboys since even longer (since 1992, compared to 1997 for Baylor). Plus, I really want to see if Michigan would get the chance to play Mike Gundy and his signature mullet.

Oklahoma State is one of those programs that is almost a carbon copy of Michigan of old, slight underachievers, combined with heartbreaking losses and seemingly being unable to get over the hump against some of their rivals in the biggest games.

The amount of times Oklahoma State was on the doorstep to a BCS National Championship appearance when BCS was still around only to falter late, and the amount of times they’ve had chances to make the CFP only to falter late is honestly painful to watch, because it literally happens year after year.

Mike Gundy and his squad always have tough teams, that score a lot of points in the high scoring conference of the Big-12, but if there’s one thing that mullet man’s squads are known for, it’s coming up short when it matters most. They were one-yard away from making the CFP last year if you’ll recall. Again, oh so close, but yet oh so far.

It should be played on a neutral site field because, Oklahoma, is, well, nothing special. The crowds do get really hostile, especially for rivalry games against Oklahoma and Baylor. That is fun. The stadium is kind of cool, with the Cowboy mascot with his two revolver pistols, and the cannons they blast after every touchdown and extra point, but overall, nothing too exciting in the state.

I’d rather this just be a neutral site where Michiganfootball fans can drown out the Cowboy fans (because our fans are some of the most travelled) and Michigan can go home happy after a win. Quick and simple.
