C: Hunter Dickinson, Tarris Reed

Hunter Dickinson is the one obvious starter that Michigan basketball has returning and of everything that has happened this offseason, getting him back was the most important.

The ceiling of this team is much higher with Dickinson, a 7-foot-1 big man who earned All-American honors as a freshman and was even better as a sophomore.

It’s now up to Juwan Howard to surround him with a team capable of winning the Big Ten championship and hopefully more. That’s why the Wolverines added Llewellyn. They needed shooting and experience in the backcourt, so it was a perfect fit.

Bufkin, Howard, and Houstan would all be great playing with Hunter especially if Bufkin and Houstan can take second-year jumps. Add Williams, Tschetter, McDaniel, and Tarris Reed, plus others (Barnes and Jace Howard or a transfer), and the Wolverines have a pretty solid roster.

As far as the center position, Tarris Reed is in line to get the minutes behind Dickinson. He’s a top-30 recruit and it will be great to get him experience but the Wolverines are still a little thin in the frontcourt and if something were to happen to Dickinson, it could be disastrous.
