Five Michigan football players were drafted in the 2022 NFL draft and they all landed in impeccable situations to begin their pro careers.

Beginning on Thursday night the Michigan football factory didn’t have to wait to long to hear its name called. From round one to round seven, at least one Michigan football player was selected on each day of the event. It wasn’t anywhere close to the likes of Georgia, but it’s still going to go down as one of the most prolific classes in Michigan history.

Here are the three takeaways.

1. The five players drafted went to their own best possible scenarios

From Aidan Hutchinson to Andrew Stueber, every Michigan player that was selected could not dream of falling into such ideal situations. Hutchinson should have been the number one pick, but going to Detroit, even though they are the laughing stock of the NFL, is a picture-perfect match made in heaven.

The choice of Josh Paschal will help take the pressure off Hutch and be reminiscent of the Ojabo/Hutchinson combo that wrecked the Big Ten a year ago.

Daxton Hill to Cincinnati fills a need that haunted the Bengals in the super bowl. His versatility in the secondary will be priceless to the reigning AFC champions who will be fighting to get back to the promised land with his help.

The best fit came with David Ojabo getting to play for Mike MacDonald again. The Harbaugh brothers put their heads together on this one and the Ravens may have hit the jackpot with this pick.

Hassan Haskins gets to learn from Derrick Henry and will play for a Buckeye who made a brilliant decision on taking Haskins. Stueber could be the next Bill Belichick steal of the draft like Michael Onwenu was in last year’s draft. He’ll push Trent Brown for time.
