Kenneth Grant, DT

Michigan football is looking for some additional help at defensive tackle and we know that from its pursuit of Cam Goode in the transfer portal.

Goode is a 300-pounder who can put pressure on the quarterback and also hold his own against the run. He’s more of a depth option at this point but there’s been talk of Michigan needing another defensive tackle and possibly trying to bring back Donovan Jeter.

Additional depth is never a bad thing on the defensive line and another guy who will add to that depth chart this fall is Kenneth Grant, a 6-foot-4, 335-pound beast.

His scouting report describes him as both “nimble” and as a guy who can win with brute strength. He’s crazy athletic for a man of his size and Michigan really doesn’t have anyone quite like him.

With Mazi Smith headed for the NFL after this season, it would be great for Michigan if Grant got some snaps inside because he’s got the ideal body for a nose tackle and while I don’t necessarily see him starting this season, I could see him being part of the rotation.

Grant may have been rated as a three-star prospect, but Ohio State legitimately wanted him and I have no doubt that once he’s on campus, he will perform better than his ranking.
