PF: Moussa Diabate

Moussa Diabate had an up-and-down year. He’s not being projected to go in the draft in any recent mocks but that doesn’t mean he can’t change some minds during the pre-draft process.

He’s incredibly raw but he’s got a lot of tools and we saw that on display at Michigan at various points of the season. He looked really good as a scorer against North Carolina and Iowa. He just needs to find that consistently.

If Diabate enters the draft, he will play in the G-League next season which might be the best thing for his development. However, if he plays another season under Juwan Howard, it’s very possible that he’s a first-rounder in the 2023 draft.

Diabate needs to get stronger and work on his hands. Plus, his defense was disappointing last season. Also, playing him and Hunter together wasn’t always ideal.

But if Diabate returns, he’ll be a much-improved player next season which should be a scary thought for the rest of the Big Ten.
