Projecting Michigan Football’s post-spring depth chart
Offensive line
Starters: Ryan Hayes, Trevor Keegan, Olusegun “Victor” Oluwatimi, Zak Zinter, Trente Jones; Backups: Karsen Barnhart, Jeffrey Persi, Greg Crippen, Raheem Anderson, Giovanni El-Hadi
This is another position group that Michigan football fans can feel really good about heading into the fall. Victor Oluwatimi transferred over from Virginia and has fit in perfectly, filling the void left by Andrew Vastardis.
Oluwatimi could easily be an All-American this year at center and Michigan football could have others on the offensive line too.
Zak Zinter is going to be an NFL starter in the future and frankly, this is a year where the entire starting five will eventually get drafted.
Trente Jones has made a move at right tackle and has surpassed Karsen Barnhart for the job. But that’s just right now and Barnhart will still play. He’s a starting-caliber guy and the coaching staff viewed him as such last season.
Crippen has also been impressive at center and I was really pleased with the development of Anderson and El-Hadi who had a great seal block in the spring game.
The offensive line won the Joe Moore award last season but heading into the 2022 campaign, I don’t expect any dropoff.
