5 things we learned about Michigan Football this spring
Michigan has pass rushers
Outside of the quarterback position and the new skill guys on offense, the one thing I was tuned in to the most on Saturday was Michigan football’s pass rush.
And frankly, I was really impressed.
Mike Morris impressed me last year with his ability to pressure the quarterback from the inside, as well as his ability to set the edge, along with his natural instinct for finding the ball. He’s got a knack for knocking the ball down with his 6-foot-6 frame and Morris did that on Saturday, as well as generating pressure on the quarterback.
And he wasn’t alone. Jaylen Harrell got some pressure, as did Braiden McGregor, and on the inside, the rush from Kris Jenkins, Mazi Smith, and George Rooks was also solid.
The Wolverines are going to need their interior guys to do a better job this year, but Morris is going to be a beast on the edge and with Taylor Upshaw, Jaylen Harrell, and McGregor also on the edge, plus impressive youngsters TJ Guy and Derrick Moore, also standing out, the pass rush should be just fine this season.
