Michigan Football: what to look for during the Spring Game
Special teams
Though few consider special teams the most exciting group on the field, they often become the difference between winning and losing the big games.
Heading into 2022, the Wolverines’ special teams look to be one of the best groups in the Big Ten and may have an impressive showing in this year’s spring game.
Kicker
Without a doubt, Michigan football legend Jake Moody will be the Wolverines’ starting kicker in week one, likely handling both place-kicking and kick-off duties.
Throughout his time in Ann Arbor, Moody has set records, amazed crowds, and won games for the Maize and Blue, all while becoming a campus legend.
Moody announced his return for a graduate season at Michigan following the Wolverines’ loss in the College Football Playoff and ensures that Michigan has a reliable leg to fall back on in times of offensive struggle.
Punter
On top of retaining the nation’s best kicker, Michigan football also brings back one of the country’s best punters. In his fifth season of eligibility, Brad Robbins will be returning to handle punting duties for the Wolverines in 2022.
In 2021 Robbins dished out the No. 2 single-season punting average in Michigan football history and will be looking to top his previous success in 2022.
