Taylor Funk, St. Joseph’s

If Diabate returns and I still believe there is a decent chance that Juwan Howard can convince him to come back and boost his draft stock which can’t be that high after how he played in the NCAA Tournament, the Wolverines will need a four that can shoot.

Moussa could get draft and showed flashes but also at times, couldn’t catch the ball and make easy finishes around the basket.

Those skills can improve and Juwan knows how to develop bigs. And if Diabate is back, Taylor Funk from St. Joseph’s would be the perfect complement for him in the transfer portal.

Michigan is pretty set at the three and it has guys who can play the four, but Funk, who was recruited to St. Joseph’s by Michigan assistant Phil Martelli, would bring some high-level offense.

Funk was sixth in the A-10 in points scored last season and the 6-foot-8 forward is a career 35-percent 3-pointer shooter with 2.3 makes per game to his credit. He’s also been a top-20 offensive player in the A-10 three times and is a perfect roster fit.
