Moussa Diabate: Stay

I fully expect Moussa Diabate to declare for the NBA draft and get evaluated just as Dickinson did prior to the 2021 NBA draft. It’s just the smart thing to do.

Depending on how that goes, Diabate could be headed out to the door to the draft. He’s got athleticism, size, and tons of upside.

Yet, as we saw against Villanova and Tennessee, he desperately needs to improve his fundamentals. He struggles to catch and pass the ball under pressure and he needs to get much stronger.

Another year in college could do him a lot of good. However, if he enters the draft, he would get signed by a team if he slipped past the second round. But if he returns, he could easily play his way into being a lottery pick in 2023.

Caleb Houstan: Stay

This should be an easy decision. Caleb Houstan reclassified to the 2021 class and it showed for much of the season. He just looked green at times. He shot just 38 percent from the field and 36 percent from 3-point range.

Yet, he was a 47-percent shooter from beyond the arc at home but made less than 30 percent of his shots from deep on the road. He’s got ability, he just needs seasoning. He should return and like Diabate, a strong offseason could turn him into a first-round pick easily by 2023.
