Brad Hawkins

Safety Brad Hawkins played five seasons with the Wolverines. Although he did not produce many defensive statistics in his first two seasons, Hawkins ran six different kick returns in these two seasons for an average of 13.9 yards.

In his final three seasons for Michigan football, Hawkins was a vital defensive player for the Wolverines as he totaled 152 tackles in 31 games. He participated in all six of the Michigan Pro Day drills on Friday as he did not get the opportunity to participate in the NFL Combine.

In the bench press, Hawkins came up with 20 reps which was pretty high compared to safeties who competed in this drill at the combine. Hawkins ran a 4.57 second 40-yard dash, a 7.10 second cone drill, and a 4.34 second shuttle. Each of these statistics were below average compared to safeties at the combine.

In the vertical jump, Hawkins jumped 37 inches which is above the average 35.77 inches of safeties at the NFL combine. Finally, in the broad jump, Hawkins jumped 10 feet and 1 inch, which is on the lower end of safeties.

Hawkins will likely be drafted on Day 3 in one of the final two rounds of the draft. Wherever he ends up, he will need to improve his strength and technique before he has any chance at real NFL gameplay.
