Vincent Gray

Cornerback Vincent Gray was not super active in either the combine or pro day, participating in one drill at the combine and three drills at Michigan’s pro day. However, Gray already has attracted  some NFL attention solely from his technique and build, so teams will not likely be too hung up on his results in these drills.

Gray came up with a 34 inch vertical jump and a 10 foot and 2 inch broad jump at Michigan’s Pro Day, results that are somewhat low compared to cornerbacks at the combine. He also ran a 4.64 second 40-yard dash on Friday, one tenth of a second slower than his 4.54 40-yard dash time at the combine.

Gray has the size and build of many star cornerbacks in the NFL which will definitely help him get picked up by a pro team. His lack of interceptions in college and lower results at the combine and pro day are likely to be the areas which push teams away from him.

Overall Conclusion

The Michigan Pro Day gave the draft eligible Wolverines a chance to showcase their speed, strength, and athleticism. Although these areas are not all that NFL teams are looking for, they are important when looking for an NFL ready player.

Pro Day did not necessarily go as planned for some Wolverines, specifically David Ojabo. However, it was a great way for some of the lesser known Wolverines to get their names and abilities out to teams that would have probably not heard of them without this exposure.
