Take care of the ball

One thing that nearly cost Michigan basketball against Colorado State was turnovers. The Wolverines turned the ball over 15 times and they were lucky that didn’t cost them the game.

Yes, Frankie Collins got the start as a freshman point guard but he actually held up pretty well considering the situation. He went 6-for-7 from the field and also had two assists but turned it over just once.

However, four Michigan basketball players turned it over multiple times and that’s going to be a danger against Tennessee which forces over 15 turnovers a game.

In the first round against Longwood, Tennessee forced 16 turnovers. The Vols gave it up 12 times, so they can be susceptible too but the Wolverines can’t afford to give away possessions.

Seven of the 15 turnovers came from Dickinson and Eli Brooks, who handled the ball more with Jones out. There were some silly passes and just careless mistakes. Those things can be corrected and they will need to be because Tennessee will take advantage.
