Michigan Basketball: 3 takeaways from spirited win over CSU

2. Michigan’s second-half fight was the difference-maker in the rally
The Wolverines came out of the locker room with a different mindset. They ratcheted up their defense, hit some balls from deep, and made their free throws in crunch time. Colorado State’s gameplan was thwarted and they couldn’t get things going as they did in the first 20 minutes of play.
Caleb Houstan was a spark plug in the last half with a trio of deep bombs that got Michigan’s offense on track. It’s become evident to everyone that if Houstan can get involved in a major way, then Michigan’s chances of winning expand. He is going to be the key to seeing how long this team can last in the brackets.
Hunter Dickinson did his normal spiel. He was having his problems in the first when Colorado State would switch him on a smaller guard which resulted in their large breakout lead.
The coaches fixed those issues and it resulted in Michigan overtaking the Rams for their 10th win in the last 12 tries of the opening round of the tournament.
