Michigan football got some exciting recruiting news earlier this week, as three-star defensive lineman Brooks Bahr (IL) committed to the program. We now take a look at a handful of recruits who could be next in line to commit.

Michigan football added a 6’6, 270-pound defensive lineman to their 2023 recruiting class this week when Brooks Bahr announced his commitment. He is the Wolverines first commit in over a full month, as RB Cole Cabana was the most recent commitment prior, pledging to the Wolverines in early February.

Michigan has gotten out to a terrific start with a lot of recruits in 2023 and 2024, with the 2023 class currently ranked eighth in the country according to On3. With a handful of prospects set to visit the Wolverines in the upcoming months, we take a look to see what prospects could soon be joining Michigan’s strong 2023 class, or setting the foundation for the 2024 class.

Here are five candidates to take notice of as potential commitments.

2024 DB Jacob Oden (MI)

A 6’0, 175 lbs. defensive back out of Harper Woods High School just outside of Detroit, Oden is currently unranked on the 247Sports Composite Rankings for 2024.

However, the Wolverines have made him an early priority on the recruiting trail and appear to be in excellent position to land him as their first commitment in the 2024 class.

Aside from the early interest, Oden is set to visit Michigan this weekend. On3’s E.J. Holland made a prediction awhile back for Oden to land with the Wolverines, and it looks like that could come sooner than later if the visit goes well. Oden is listed as an athlete on 247Sports, and a safety with On3, appearing to have some versatility wherever he lands.
