Taking more shots on goal works

With weak goaltending at Michigan State, the Wolverines had to take advantage of it. And that is exactly what they did. While on Friday night they only had a 28-24 shot on goal advantage, Saturday night they took 41 shots on goal, while Michigan State only took 24.

Michigan outscored Michigan state 12-1 this weekend. With the talented offense that Michigan has, taking shots like they did this weekend is vital to the success of this team.

Michigan earned yet another sweep against their rival and advance to the Semifinals at Yost Ice Arena, where they will play the Notre Dame Fighting Irish yet again.

This was statistically one of the best series the Michigan hockey team has played all season, and the Wolverines must continue this momentum going into next weekend where they play a team they have yet to beat all season.
