An immediate impact

There is no question that Michigan football’s recruiting momentum took a hit when Harbaugh was looking at the NFL and was believed to be leaving at one point.

Harbaugh has returned and signed a contract extension, as well as saying all the right things, but this move is something that is going to help the Wolverines get some of that lost momentum back, immediately.

Obviously, Robinson is going to help Michigan football in the state of Florida and there are some key targets in that state for the 2023 recruiting class. Not only is he from Florida and played for the Jaguars, but he will also help get kids to Michigan that wouldn’t have gone otherwise.

However, he also played quarterback and he should be able to help Michigan with five-star QB target Dante Moore who surely remembers watching Shoelace for the Wolverines. Even if he doesn’t, Robinson will help in the recruitment of Moore.

And while this move came as a surprise to fans, Marich reported for The Michigan Insider that it was something that has been expected. There are also people in the building who say it’s a home-run hire and it’s hard to disagree.

Robinson is going to immediately make an impact and who knows, someday he could even work his way into a role coaching on the field. He was a pretty stellar quarterback/running back during his day.
