Wide receiver:

Starters: Ronnie Bell, Andrel Anthony, Cornelius Johnson; Bench: A.J. Henning, Roman Wilson, Darrius Clemons, Christian Dixon

Michigan football is so loaded at wide receiver that the Wolverines are actually moving Mike Sainristil over to defensive back.

Sainristil was recruited to Michigan as an athlete and seemed like an ideal fit for the speed-in-space system. Last season, he caught 21 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns, but with so many options at wideout, the movie does make sense.

Ronnie Bell is expected back next week for spring practices and the only good thing about his injury was that it happened so early in the season, giving him plenty of time for rehab. He was an all-Big-Ten type of performer already and will lead the way next season.

Cornelius Johnson also had an underrated campaign and was the team leader in receptions (40), yards (627), and touchdown receptions (3). And while Michigan football doesn’t get credit for being explosive, Johnson, Roman Wilson, and Anthony all averaged over 15 yards a reception.

And the fact that Wilson might be the fourth receiver to start next season, with A.J. Henning fifth tells you just how deep this group is. There are playmakers all over and whoever plays quarterback will have plenty to work with in 2022.
