Michigan Football: Why Jim Harbaugh’s extension is good for Wolverines
Michigan’s recruiting needs Jim Harbaugh
Since returning to Ann Arbor, Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines have landed a top-15 class in all but two seasons since 2014. This recruiting trail is one of the reasons Michigan football has returned to its natural state as a top-10 program in the country.
Harbaugh has had many recruiting victories over other dominant programs as well. In 2018, Harbaugh managed to swipe Dax Hill from Nick Saban and Alabama.
Hill was a starter as a defensive back during the Wolverines’ 12-2 season in 2021 and will be heading to the NFL Draft in 2022.
Another of Harbaugh’s most significant recruiting victories was bringing in five-star quarterback J.J. McCarthy.
McCarthy has been one of Harbaugh’s most prominent supporters and fans, and even over the past two months, he has remained vocal about his commitment to Michigan and his head coach.
It is clear that players, families, and fans love Jim Harbaugh, and without his presence, Michigan’s recruiting could easily fall off.
