3. Purdue was held to 27 points under their season average

Just five days ago Purdue handed Michigan basketball its ninth loss and hung 82 on them. A lot has changed since then.

Michigan has gotten better from that narrow loss. It was Michigan who turned the tables on the Boilermakers by putting 82 on them, but this time Purdue could only muster 58 total in the lopsided defeat.

Jaden Ivey was held under 20 points for the first time since a late January win over Iowa. It also put an end to their six-game winning streak. Zach Edey was not a factor in 17 minutes of action because of his first-half foul trouble and Trevion Williams had seven fewer points than he did on Saturday.

Michigan’s defense is allowing only 57.5 in the two wins this week. Purdue shot 22% from deep, while Penn State only scored 23 points in the second half Tuesday night.

Now, Michigan basketball will look to do more of the same on the defensive side to Ohio State in primetime on Saturday evening for another important quad one opportunity.
