5 Thoughts on Jim Harbaugh returning to Michigan Football
There was no good replacement
While some Michigan football fans might be upset with Harbaugh, there’s no question that his return is the best thing for the Wolverines.
A lot of fans wanted him fired the 2020 season and many are still critical of his record, especially against Michigan State and Ohio State. However, many of those same fans were probably upset at him for testing the NFL waters this offseason.
You can’t have it both ways and it’s time for people to accept that Harbaugh is an elite coach and there’s NO ONE available right now that could be a suitable replacement.
The program is in much better shape than when he arrived and the overall strength of the program right now would have helped any new head coach, but now, Harbaugh can continue to build on his best season and his fourth 10-win campaign in seven years.
And Michigan football doesn’t have to settle for something less, which it would have had to do if Harbaugh moved on because the options just weren’t that exciting.
