CB Vincent Gray – New Orleans Saints (7.234)

Many were a bit surprised to hear that Vincent Gray would be entering the NFL Draft instead of returning to Michigan football, but it does make sense to capitalize now, given that his ceiling is not particularly high.

Here, we have Gray landing with the Sean Payton-less Saints, as the Saints have traditionally prioritized height and length at the cornerback position. Every current player on the Saints cornerback depth chart is listed at 5’11 or taller, with a majority being 6’1 or taller. Gray will have an opportunity to make a roster as a match-up-specific cornerback, likely used against taller wideouts like Mike Evans, whom the Saints face twice a year.

Other fits: Arizona Cardinals, Chicago Bears

C Andrew Vastardis – Carolina Panthers (7.244)

We are going to go ahead and send Vastardis to the Panthers in this exercise here, as they have some questions at the center position that will need to be answered. First off, their starting center, Matt Paradis, is a free agent this offseason. Second, his backup, Pat Elflein, was inserted into the starting lineup at left guard. Thus, there’s likely room for Vastardis to compete for that backup center spot, regardless of whether or not they bring back Paradis for another season.

Other fits: Cincinnati Bengals, Buffalo Bills
