Finding ideal fits for Michigan Football players in 2022 NFL draft
By Kyler Kregel
DB Daxton Hill – Dallas Cowboys (1.24)
A very versatile player in the secondary, Daxton Hill has played a number of positions and roles during his time with Michigan football. He can play outside cornerback, slot cornerback, deep safety, strong safety. He has also shown himself quite proficient at blitzing off the edge from the slot position and really can do just about anything a defensive coordinator needs.
That makes him an excellent fit in Dallas, where the Cowboys could certainly use some reinforcements in the secondary. A cornerback to play across from Trevon Diggs (especially in the slot) and another safety are in high demand for the Cowboys, and Hill can kill two birds with one stone for the ‘boys.
Other fits: Buffalo Bills (1.25), Kansas City Chiefs (1.30),
OT Andrew Stueber – Green Bay Packers (3.92)
The Packers had to deal with injuries this season, leading to a constant shuffling of the offensive line. However, under the guidance of former Michigan football offensive lineman Adam Stenavich, now the Packers offensive coordinator, the OL faired quite well.
The one position that does need a more long-term solution, however, is right-tackle, where Billy Turner has been quite inconsistent. Thus, the recommendation here of sending Stueber to Green Bay, which has another former UM lineman in Jon Runyan Jr. starting at left guard.
Other fits: Pittsburgh Steelers (3.84), Cincinnati Bengals (3.95)
