Michigan Basketball: 3 things we learned in win vs Indiana
Michigan basketball defeated the Indiana Hoosiers in Assembly Hall by the score of 80-62. U-M currently sits on a two-game winning streak and is looking ahead to their game against Northwestern on the 26th.
Wow! What a win by the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan basketball maintains its dominant status over Indiana absolutely routing them 80-62 on Sunday in what was the best game Michigan has played all year.
The Wolverines came out firing, blowing the game wide open straight from the jump, going up 29-13 early on. Hunter Dickinson proved why he was the best Big Ten Center once more.
But what exactly did we take away from this amazing game for the Wolverines? Well, we took away some serious notes that need to be addressed. We’ve all got some apologies in order as well.
1. Caleb Houstan IS THAT DUDE
I am going to be the first one to say that I called out Caleb Houstan and questioned his role on the team, however one thing I never questioned was his potential and the possibility that he could get out of the slump.
Caleb Houstan played a fantastic game both offensively and defensively. Houstan went 7-12, shooting more in this game than the past few combined while dropping 19 points and going 5-7 from deep.
Houstan picked up six defensive boards as he displayed his dominance in the paint, while he is starting to prove that his stars were legit. We knew he had this potential, we all saw the flashes throughout the year, and well here we are with Caleb exploding at the right time.
How Caleb follows this game up is crucial to his confidence and development. We know he can shoot, we know he can play defense but him getting in another slump is just going to derail the progress he’s made as well as his confidence.
