If Jim Harbaugh leaves for NFL, the Bears make the most sense

The Bears have their franchise QB

Like I mentioned earlier, the Bears seem to finally have their franchise QB in Justin Fields. Whether he is this superstar savior remains to be seen, but at least the Bears finally seem to know what direction they want to go in.

For too long now, the Bears have been one QB away from really being contenders in their conference. It happened in 2018. The last division title they won. Remember the double-doink FG miss to lose the wild card game?

Well, if former QB Mitchell Trubisky had been even decent in that game, the Bears wouldn’t have had to rely on a long FG to win the game. Trubisky was pretty terrible in that game, as the offense was unable to move the ball. 2018 was the most unexpected and exciting thing that happened to the Bears in years. It’s been bad ever since.

Now that Justin Fields has a year of experience under his belt, he can start to take the training wheels off and show what he can really do. The Bears still have a really good defense, as DE Robert Quinn had 18 sacks this year, and LB Khalil Mack is still on the team. That side of the ball is pretty much set. While they had games where they were bad (as all teams do occasionally) they still have some studs on that side of the ball.

The bigger question mark is the offense. If the Bears want Justin Fields to take that next step, they need to get him some real help. Some WRs would be nice. The Bears might be losing WR Allen Robinson in the off-season, as he really wanted to leave the last off-season, but was franchise tagged, and now he will probably be a free agent this off-season.

If the Bears lose Allen Robinson, who else do they really have? They have a few other decent WRs, but no true #1 receiver, and so some real WR talent is needed. Get Justin Fields some WR help, and that guy can probably turn into a really good NFL QB.

The only issue I have with all of this is Jim Harbaugh potentially leaving at all. Also, he would be coaching a former Buckeye QB. Also, I am a Lions fan (sadly) so seeing a former Michigan coach against my hometown Lions would be weird, to say the least.
