5* DL Jayden Wayne (WA)

The Buckeyes have taken advantage of the recent misfortune of the Washington Huskies, going into the Northwest and pulling a couple of five-star players in defensive lineman J.T. Tuimoloau and wide receive Emeka Egbuika.

It’s time for Michigan football to do the same, starting with the five-star defensive lineman from Tacoma, Washington.

The Wolverines will certainly have competition from Oregon, Miami (FL), Washington and others, but Michigan has already shown a good deal of interest in a handful of other Washington state prospects this class (cornerback Caleb Presley, running back Jayden Limar, offensive lineman Landon Hatchett) and could really build a strong presence out there by landing some of them.

247Sports’ Brandon Huffman compared Wayne specifically to Arizona Cardinals star Chandler Jones, one of the NFL’s top pass rushers. A player of that caliber is certainly worth the efforts to pull him from the West Coast.
