Update on Michigan Football’s top remaining 2022 target
Josh Conerly Jr. is Michigan football’s highest-rated target that is left undecided at the moment, he currently holds Crystal Ball predictions to Michigan and Washington.
Michigan’s recruiting class this year has been fantastic, a product of the Big Ten Championship and beating the hated Ohio State Buckeyes, but while the class may seem great right now, Michigan football has their eye still on Josh Conerly Jr. who remains undecided.
Conerly, an offensive tackle is 247 Sport’s 9th highest-rated prospect and the 25th highest rated composite prospect. Conerly possesses the raw talent and would be an immediate impact at Michigan—that’s if they land him.
Currently looking at the Crystal Ball situation with Conerly Jr, two experts Steve Lorenz and Ryland Spencer sit on directly opposite sides of the table on this, they also root for opposite sides, Steve for Michigan football and Ryland for Washington.
However, neither of these schools is exactly trending at all for Josh Conerly Jr. in their own respects. Conerly recently went on a visit to Oklahoma and seemed to like it a lot, giving high praises to their coaching staff.
"“The thing that stood out to me was getting to know coach B”"
“coach B” being Bill Bedenbaugh, the current Offensive Line coach at Oklahoma seemed to have a very productive and influential day with Josh. Stating this about Coach Venables to Brandon Huffman of 247 Sports.
"“My impression of coach Venables is he’s a solid coach but a better man”"
There’s some clear buzz with Conerly and Oklahoma, he’ll be taking two more visits to USC and Oregon, capped off by another unofficial visit to Washington. From what it sounds like, Michigan football may have lost some ground on Conerly.
I think the whole Harbaugh situation does not exactly bode well for the Wolverines with this recruitment, unless Harbaugh specified to Conerly that he’s staying in Ann Arbor, he could ultimately decide against the Wolverines because of the uncertainty.
We will know more toward the end of January and the beginning of February where he stands with Michigan. Hopefully, Michigan can pick up some momentum and snag Conerly to add some more talent to the offensive line.
