Moe Wagner

Last, but certainly not least, is Franz’s brother, and former Michigan basketball star Moe Wagner (who, ironically enough, are teammates on the Magic).

So far this year, Moe has made the most of his opportunities, averaging 7.5 ppg. While that may not seem like a lot of production, you have to take into account the role that Moe plays on the team.

He isn’t as talented as his brother Franz, and the Magic are rebuilding, so a ton of guys want to play, so that’s why Moe hasn’t received a ton of playing time. I still think that averaging just under 10 ppg is still really solid, as a third-string or fourth-string center/power forward.

I don’t expect Moe to stay in Orlando forever, because players are very moveable in trades nowadays, and Moe has already been traded before, but, his numbers are solid, which should give him staying power in the NBA, even if those numbers aren’t amazing.

It’s just fun to see Moe and Franz together in Orlando, as they seem like they are having a lot of fun, even though the team stinks.

I’m sure we all look forward to more Franz and Moe, and all of the former Michigan Wolverines. It’s cool to see that there are nine current former Michigan players in the NBA, as that’s near the top of the list in the NBA for college programs that have active players in the NBA.

It’s also a reminder that Michigan’s men’s basketball program really knows how to pump out NBA-level talent.

I look forward to watching the conclusion of the NBA regular season, and hopefully, some of these guys will be showing out in the playoffs.
