An update on Michigan Basketball players in the NBA
Isaiah Livers
Here’s where things get weird. Isaiah Livers has played in one career NBA game, getting a few minutes at the end of a Pistons game in December, but other than that, he hasn’t played at all. Even when the Pistons have had to completely adjust their roster to a COVID outbreak.
I’m not really sure why Isaiah hasn’t received more playing time. Other players like Cassius Stanley, former Michigan basketball fan-favorite Derrick Walton Jr., Luka Garza, and others have all played way more minutes than Isaiah this year, as they were all called up from the G-league due to the COVID outbreak within the Pistons organization.
I’m not sure if Isaiah is hurt again, or he’s still trying to get up to speed, and it could be a precautionary measure, but Isaiah’s injury was supposed to be cleared back at the beginning of November, and it’s going on February soon, so you just wonder.
Anyways, all I can say to that is we hope to see him in action soon. The Pistons are one of the three worst teams in the league, so they can afford to give Isaiah some minutes just to see what he can do.
