Michigan basketball takes on Maryland on Tuesday, January 18th at 7:00 PM EST. U-M is coming off a tough loss to Illinois and is currently on a three-game losing skid. This would be the first time ever at any point in Juwan Howard’s tenure is below .500 on the season.

Although Michigan basketball‘s last performance ended in a loss, some younger guys take initiative and start playing with some serious tenacity. We also saw Devante Jones play a complete game without any costly mistakes, looking like a true game manager.

It’s unclear whether or not Michigan basketball is going to field a complete roster against Maryland, and if we’ll have our starting five back, but here are some important things to keep an eye on throughout the duration of the Michigan vs Maryland game.

1. Will Michigan basketball Finally be fully healthy?

It’s been a long time since we have seen a full Michigan roster with nobody missing, hurt, or sick. While prior games have been rough even with our starting five, this will be the most important stretch for the team this season if they want to make it to March.

Maryland is a very beatable team, every team Michigan plays is very beatable but until they start working together as a collective unit no games will be winnable this season. Michigan cannot achieve that mold if they’re consistently missing games and players.

Missing Hunter Dickinson proved to be severely costly in a game that Michigan genuinely could have won if they were healthy.

It’s unclear as of right now who is playing that was on the COVID-19 list, but we can only hope for the best and a speedy recovery for everyone who may have been sick.
